The Youth Staff Search Team has done it again!June 29, 2017
Dear ryeX Parents,
The Youth Staff Search Committee has exciting news!
You have already been introduced to two of our new youth staff members, Jaymi Hendrix and Robby Cella. They have had strong beginnings to their RPC tenure already! I am so impressed with each of them and the fantastic work they are doing!
The committee is excited to announce that we have now added the third member of the team, Kemo Jones. Kemo began work as our Director of Youth Outreach on June 26. His first assignment was to join the middle school team that headed to Chattanooga for the mission trip!
Kemo moved to Atlanta when he was a child and graduated from Dekalb School of the Arts. After graduation, he enrolled at Georgia State where he is currently finishing up a Film and Video degree. Kemo served as the youth director at his home church, Elevation Point Church, for two years. He also has served as the intern for the Koinonia Ministry at Georgia State where he met Rev. Jeff Meyers. Jeff introduced us to Kemo and the committee knew immediately that Kemo was the perfect fit for our team. Kemo is engaged to his high school sweetheart, Meesa Evans.
Kemo is a gifted, outgoing, and active man who is committed to Christ and to students. He has a deep faith, which is contagious. Kemo’s references told us the same thing we discovered about him immediately: he is a people magnet! He will be an outstanding addition to our church family.
I want to also share my immense gratitude for the work of the Youth Staff Search Committee. Katherine Duley, Will Durham, Anne Haughton, Ed Searcy, Rick Stewart, Bill Powell, Alex Scudellari, and Tina Strickland have spent hours and hours over the last year and a half reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and working hard to ensure that we have secured the strongest youth staff team possible. While the process took longer than we were hoping, I am beyond confident that this dedicated group of people has assembled a dynamic team that will take the solid foundation that we already have in youth ministry to the next level. Please join me in sharing our thanks for the search committee.
Also, mark your calendar for Sunday, August 6th at 12:15 p.m. You are all invited to an Open House in Alderman Hall to meet all the new youth staff. This will be a great opportunity to welcome Jaymi, Kemo, and Robby and learn more about how you can support them as we begin the new school year!
I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for our youth ministry!
