Middle School

There is a lot going on in the Middle School Ministry of ryeX! We have TONS of fun, but we also give students the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God, and in their relationships with each other. We are committed to building a community in which students feel comfortable being real, asking questions, and exploring what it means to be a follower of Christ in their middle school world. Check out all that we have going on, and come hang out.

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday morning, we meet from 9:45-10:45 in the Garage (the name of our middle school room). During this time, we hang out, play games, worship, and hear a lesson. After the lesson, we break into what we call Talk Back Groups. These groups are divided by grade and gender, and during this time, we talk together about the lesson and figure out how we can apply it to our lives.

Wednesday Night Small Groups

On Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30, we meet in groups of about 7-10 students, divided by grade and gender. In these groups, we laugh together, pray together, and study God’s Word together. Each group is listed below with information about leaders and meeting places.
To join a small group contact Jaymi Hendrix, Director of Youth Small Groups.

MOE (Monthly Outreach Event):

One Friday night a month, we simply get together to hang out! During our MOE's, we meet at the church and then head out to a fun location in/near the Roswell area. We have gone to the Corn Maze at Uncle Shucks, Sky Zone, bowling alleys, roller skating rinks, etc. This is a great time for students to invite their friends!

Retreats, Camps, Mission Experiences, etc.:
Throughout the year, we offer different retreats, camps, and mission opportunities.
Visit our EVENTS page to see what is coming up!

Wildfire: Middle School Leadership Team

Wildfire is the name for our student leadership team. We encourage our students in Wildfire to be welcoming and engaging to all the students who come to ryeX events. We want them to have a “servant’s heart” and put others needs before their own.

Students must apply to be on our Wildfire team and will be required to come to monthly training and discussion times. We equip our students through teaching topics that encourage them to live out their faith in their youth group and school. Students, this is your opportunity to step up, learn some leadership skills and take ownership in the future of ryeX!

We are offering "sub" teams to students who are interested in additional responsibilities. The sub teams are:

  • Wildfire Worship – worship band will play on Sunday mornings and have additional rehearsal requirements.
  • Wildfire Media – students will be trained to help on Sunday mornings with the sound board, slides, etc and help with social media promotions.
  • Wildfire Connect – students will help welcome others (especially new students), help get them where they need to be, join in conversations on our space design, t-shirt designs, and some event planning.

Please complete the application and turn it in to Jaymi Hendrix, Director of Youth Small Groups.
